Dual Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis

STORY

Project Date: 2009-08-01

Dual Diagnosis is based in Warrington and St. Helens supporting individuals isolated from their families
and local communities. Dual Diagnosis works with individuals whose isolation is based on severe and enduring mental health issues and drug dependency. The group have found individuals who use the drop in service are doubly stigmatised due to their mental health issues and drug misuse.

Dual Diagnosis aims to bring people together to develop new support networks to help individuals regain their self esteem and develop new and lasting friendships.

Taking the next step, Dual Diagnosis were funded to create a short film to case study personal stories to highlight the many different knock-on affects associated with Dual Diagnosis and how this has impacted on their lives. The benefits of making this film include a new avenue for individuals to positively develop with the ability to circulate the film to a much wider audience, raising awareness and educating communities across Merseyside and beyond about Dual Diagnosis.
